When To Book A Newborn Photoshoot

One of the most exciting parts of finding out you are expecting is imagining all the magical moments you are about to have as a new family! And those first few weeks are so fleeting that documenting those times is crucial!

I’m asked this question all the time! “When should I book my newborn photoshoot?”

The simple answer? As soon as you are out of the first trimester! I tend to book up 1-2 months in advance as well as plan our family travel around due dates. Once we book your due date into the schedule, the planning begins! After your baby arrives, the date of your newborn photoshoot is scheduled and confirmed. Usually within 2 weeks of delivery. To guarantee a spot with JAC Photography’s schedule, contact me as soon as you are in the ‘safe zone’ of your pregnancy. However, If you prefer to wait until you are further along in your pregnancy, totally ok! Just drop me a note so I can follow up with availability if needed. I reserve space for last minute bookings in my schedule when I can, so please always reach out.

The best part of booking further in advance of your due date is I can fully customize your session with new colours & props, special themes and knitted goodies. If your baby has already arrived, give us a call and let’s see what we can do! The sooner the better so we can ensure that sleepy, curly and fresh newborn stage. If I am fully booked then I have referrals for photographers that do have remaining availability.
